Extra Fun Friday Whānau Reward!

The children in Ahuriri are amazing at earning whānau cards for showing our Halswell School Values. We were very excited to reach our school wide target of 4000 whānau cards and celebrating this with a reward was a wonderful way to end the term. 

We loved the outfits that the children chose to wear and they had such fun playing with the toys that they brought along. As an extra special surprise, we made some delicious smores at Discovery Time - after all of our learning about Healthy Eating, it was nice to have a wee treat. After all, we are allowed to have a small amount of food from the top of that food pyramid!

Te wiki reo Māori

 This week we have enjoyed Māori language week through all different subjects.  We enjoyed the older children teaching us about colours and gifting us a follow up book for home learning.  Amongst our learning we spent lots of fun times practising counting in te reo and making some books.
